Does The Electric Car Scheme cover Northern Ireland?

Due to the UK leaving the European Union and there being new customs regulations put in place, most leasing companies are no longer able to supply EV's to Northern Ireland.

Leaseplan is currently the only lessor we work with that still states they're able to provide vehicles to NI. However, we believe it's important to make our customers aware of the potential complications that may arise with the dealership or shipping company used to transport the vehicle in the event of an order

In some cases the dealership or shipping company will only be able to supply the vehicle to a port in NI, therefore the customer may need to make their own arrangements to collect the vehicle in this instance which may or may not be convenient.

If the dealer used is not able to delivery to NI a solution could be, if the company has a UK office address, to delivery to EV to the UK office instead. This would mean the employee would need to arrange for the EV to be driven to their location in NI. Again, this may or may not be convenient.

It is the responsibility of our EV specialists to highlight customers located in NI to the dealership to  ensure the dealership/shipping company is willing and able to ship the vehicle to NI and if not for the logistic s to be discussed and confirmed with the employee.
