How can I book my home charger installation?

Should an employee wish to include an EV charger with their order they can do this through The Electric Car Scheme and our collaborator Smart Home Charge. Smart Home Charge offers a range of charger types and employees should discuss which best suits their needs with their EV specialist at the time of placing their order.

Step 1:

Once the order has been confirmed, the EV specialist will ask the employee to confirm the following:

  • Does the employee’s property have off street parking
  • Does the property have strong wifi signal
  • Is the employee the homeowner

Step 2:

The employee will then be passed to a member of the Operations team who will contact Smart Home Charge on the employee’s behalf to notify them of the installation booking.

As the charger is included in salary sacrifice the operations team will work with Smart Home Charge to ensure the charger fitting takes place as close to the delivery date as possible.

It’s important to note that, should a delivery date be offered to the employee within a short space of time, there may be a small delay to having the charger installed. We will always try to minimise any delay as much as possible.

Step 3:

Smart Home Charge will then reach out to the employee directly to book in an site survey for the installation. This may or may not include a physical site visit to the employee’s property

Step 4:

Smart Home Charge will send the charger via courier to the employee’s address, so it is there ready for when the engineer arrives for the installation. They will also confirm the date of the installation with the employee around this time.

It is important to highlight that Smart Home Charge will only do a standard installation (a standard charger fitting) if additional work such as trench digging or extra cabling isn't required. In the event extra work needs to be carried out at the employee’s address in order to fit the charger, Smart Home Charge will discuss this and charge the employee directly.
